Arthritis is one of the oldest and most chronic diseases in the world. Arthritis includes more then one hundred different disorders characterized by pain, swelling and limited range of motion in the joints, from rhematoid arthritis, to the most common osteoathritis.
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthiritis, caused by the breakdown and eventual loss of the cartilage in one or more joints. Because osteoarthritis is essentially a degenerative disease, it occurs more frequently and with greater severity as you age, primarily from wear and tear on the joints. The progression of osteoarthritis varies from person to person, some are engaging in a strenous activity such as martial arts training, soccer matches or high impact exercises, and others experience daily pain that gradually gets worse. Although osteoarthritis is not life-threatening, it takes a severe toll on an individual’s quality of life.
Treatments for osteoarthritis fall into four stages ;
stage one : Lifestyle modification with proper exercise, diet and nutritional supplements.
stage two : Supplementing stage one with conventional oral medication and/or a wide range of integrative practitioners without resorting to physically invasive procedure.
stage three : Makes use of minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure such as cortisone injections.
stage four : Encompasses a variety of invasive surgical procedures.
The most important step in treating arthritis pain is to visit medical doctor to determine that the complaints of pain are actually caused by arthritis not other disease or ailments including auto immune and/or neuromuscular.
Rhematoid and Psoriatic arthritis are another forms of arthritis that scientists are not sure of the caused for those to develops, they suspects that an unidentified virus stimulates the immune system. As a result, the disease-fighting cells inflame the joints, that destroys the cartilage. These forms of arthiritis are far less common then osteoarthritis.
