Allergies

Whether a seasonal allergy or congestion from common cold, a natural approach of healing could help relieve the sinus pressure.  Long before allergy shot became common, practitioner of Tradition Asian Theraphy have several ways of using natural remedies such as : Head & Face Massage,  Reflexology, Accupuncture, Medical Tuina, Herbal teas and Scented steam inhalation.  When the allergy symptoms ( sinuses and congestion) are lingering and suspected that the condition is of high pollen count, Lymphatic Drainage massage will be recommended, as the treatment could help detoxify the body by removing toxins and allergens from tissues.

Paying special attention to your diet during allergy season could alleviate the symptoms.  Try cutting back on mucus-producing food like dairy products and orange juice, consuming spicy foods and increasing intake of water also helps to thin mucus, drain sinuses and aid breathing.

Scar Tissue

Scar Tissue is the fibrous connective tissue which forms a scar, this scar usually occurs when any tissue on the body, including skin and internal organs are damage from an injury, disease, cut or surgery has taken place.  The body naturally wants to heal itself but cannot re-grow healthy skin or tissue, it puts together new fibers that are not as functional as the original tissue, just serve as a protective and useful barrier.

Scar Tissue is often thicker than the surrounding tissue, paler, and denser because it has  a limited blood supply.  Surgeries are available to remove scars, but any procedures will always make new scar, therefore it is not recommended for hypertonic or kelloid  as there is the risk of recurrence and worse scarring.

The hand-on work of Massage by applying gentle with specific pressure and giving combination of appropriate modalities can help reduce adhesions, decrease pain, enhance soft tissue mobility without the risks of surgery or drugs.
